"Having
spent many years in portraiture, I decided to turn my artwork and
studies towards Child Portraiture. Child portraits were always something
that I marvelled at as a young girl - I was fascinated at the realism
of a face staring back at me from a piece of paper - how someone
could create from scratch, a child portrait was remarkable.
As time went on, I discovered that drawing and studying children
was not going to be as easy as I had thought.
To achieve a realistic life-like child portrait with the elasticity
and fullness in the skin was something that required alot of practice
and a constant road in discovery in new ways of working.
Child Portraiture really was a skill that required the understanding
of the medium I were to work with in order to be able to achieve
Child Portraiture of a high level. I found developing child portraits
was fascinating.
After time and development, I exerted myself to excel in Child Portraiture
and am now continuing to thrive in the satisfaction and fulfillment
of creating the portraits of children."
